So wife and i decide lets start riding. Grew up with my dad always having a bike, so one of those things i always wanted to get into. Just took me a lot longer then i thought it would(38 years old now).

First bike ever i just picked up is a 2005 V-Star 650 Custom. No pics yet... will get on that over the next few days. Wife ended up with a Suzuki S50, the former intruder.

Want to learn every last in and out of my new bike, and figured this would be a good place to start in on that. :)

Welcome to the forum from southwestern PA, and Keith is correct, you have joined the best forum goin. Maybe share a little background on where bouts you ride from. And since you're both new to riding, ya'll may wanna check into a BRC course to help ya build up yer confidence and gain some safe riding habits. Oh, and congrats on yer new acquisitions. I'm sure there'll be many miles and many smiles.

Yeah we took the BRC, she had to drop the first range day due to dropping the bike on her foot n leg, just some bruising and a bit of swelling in her ankle. I passed through fine. She will be taking the BRC again in Sept doing just the range section, i might go with her and do it again just to keep building on it, then we will do the 1 day BRC 2 class. For now she is content to ride around our street building up confidence and ability.

For now its nice n slow goin for us, be a bit before we start any long rides.

Welcome from Waldorf, Md. It appears Pennsylvania is in the house so let me add to it as I'm from Pittsburgh [North Versailles] and a former steelworker [Go Steelers] prior to joining the Air Force. It's great that you and your wife will be riding.

Lived in north versailles for a few years, on Delaware ave. Up in Munhall now.

Still no pics, had to take my bike back to the dealer. Right crankcase cover gasket was leaking quite bad, would spray on the back tire while riding. So wont have it back till maybe next weekend. Hope they do a good cleaning on the bike as well, oil all over it.

And finally some pics. Just got her back last night after they replaced the right crankcase cover gasket. Needs a cleaning and want to change out the pegs and a few other things.

Once i have her cleaned up and add some more personal touches i will snap some new pics. And yes, thats my wifes S50 next to mine, though the bags are removed off it at the moment.
