Hi,I am 54 and have been riding almost 40 years but have always rode sport bikes my last was a FJR1300,in march I purchased my first cruiser I have a 09 Yamaha Raider 1900.My question is the bikes front end seems to twist if I have to brake fast and hard.I have been told you have to use the back brake more on a cruiser. But I have never felt any thing like this is this normal for cruisers or Raiders.I am considering going back to sport bikes.

Front end twisting is not normal for any bike.
You may want to have a pro. mechanic look at it.

I see you are still on-line.
I was born in 1956 myself - been riding as much or possibly more than you.
Why the harsh words, don't take it personal because he didn't assume you are the all knowing biker. Maybe you should have been a little more help with your background.
In other words, act your age.
Now, back on topic - that Raider has a bit more rake than a sport bike I think you can see where I'm going.

If I was as smart as some people I wouldn't be on this Forum asking for help. It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to know that the front end shouldn't twist when you brake. Sounds like you need a good mechanic to look at it.

I seriously have my doubts there was any twisting. Why he expected to go from a sport bike to a raked out cruiser and expect the same crisp handling is beyond me. But I think what we are discussing is falling on deaf ears, he has by now took his box of tissues and left for good.

He got offended when he saw the list of Bikes, he just wasn't familiar with this site. My Bike handles different from any Bike that I have owned, but I rode a friends full dress HD in the late 60's and thats the way it feels. A wider front tire can make a lot of differences in the feel of a Bike.
