Hello, I just became an owner of a 2003 V-star 650 Silverado with 1kk miles on it. It was a gift from my dad who can no longer ride it. I just rode it from his house in FL to mine in MI.

The bike is comfortable and rode well but it seemed to lack power. All I could get was 60mph top speed. Less if going up hills. It sat for a year or so so when I got home I changed the air filter and sparks plugs and put Seafoam in the gas tank. I plan to change to oil and sync the carbs when I get time.

The bike is 100% bone stock.

If all you can get is 60 there is something very wrong , you should be able to get 100 plus. sounds like not firing on both cylinders or one carb gummed up. If its only firing on one cylinder you should have one exhaust header that is not hot. Are you getting a lot of backfiring?
