Checking in from the big valley of California. I just purchased a 2006 Stratoliner after 20+ years of owning and riding a couple of Sportsters and Classic Triumph Bonnevilles.

I was looking for something that was a little more comfortable for those long trips. I seem to have found it in the big Yamaha twin. On my Sportster at 75 on the freeway I feel like I'm holding on with a death grip, on this Stratoliner I feel like I'm sitting in a recliner and cruising happily. Two things, this bike is big, and has massive amounts of torque. After two weeks I feel like I've been riding it for years, it's a blast to ride.

I don't know a lot about this bike, but from what I've learned by lurking around is I was able to get a bike that has a few aftermarket things. Namely a fairing with stereo, Mustang seats, D&D exhaust, and bars and risers that set the bars back to a more comfortable position. Also an aftermarket trunk, passenger foot boards, and a TomTom GPS thrown in. I picked this up for 5k withe 29,000 miles.

Look forward to all the knowledge and insight I hope to pick up here.

Welcome to the forum eh. Tgat Strat is one awesome ride for sure. Got mine last fall and I just love it. Make sure you post pics cause Keith might breakdown and start going on a rant, and that isn't something you want to see :D.

Ride safe and keep, it shiny side up
