I have a 2007 VMax with 6,000 miles: The oil light comes on at about 7,500 RPM. There is no noise or vibration. Has anyone had similar problem?

That model has been known to do that for many years. It usually comes on after 7000 rpm and once the rpm has lowered the light goes out in a short period of time. Not to worry. I've never seen a bad result due to the oiling system. Some of the oil level and pressure senders are just more sensitive than others. Just make sure your oil quantity level is kept at the upper level. Quite often, the problem goes away when the oil is maintained at the upper level. Give that a shot and see. Be concerned though, if your oil light stays on at normal cruising speeds.

I had an 05 vmax and what I was told is that the oil sensor is in the front of the oil pan so when you are getting on it which is all the time with the vmax!! the oil goes to the back of the pan.
I Love my Roadliner but I still miss my VMAX.

I've had my 98 for 40000 miles,do nearly all of my own wrenching,and concur with the above comments..Personally,I just didn't like it coming on,so I decided to fill it above the marks to where the entire window was just barely completely full...This has worked well for me..The bike seems to "like" fossil oil over synthetic,also,although my 07 Liner does fine on 20-50 mobil one..cheers!

Can I ask what is the best way to fix this oil light problem? Is there a aftermarket oil sensor unit that can be bought to prevent this problem to occur? Sorry to ask so much, I'm actually planning of getting a vmax soon and would like to study the thing before getting one for my own.

I have never heard of a fix. It is a harmless design oversight involving the internal baffling in the oil pan allowing the oil to push to the rear,harmlessly,causing the light to come on. It bugged me also..The most logical thing to do is to simply fill the oil till just barely totally filling the sight window..That has been my fix for 8yrs and 40K reliable miles..Btw,I've been through nearly the entire bike myself doing repairs and maintance,and would be happy to share what I have learned..I'm not much on typing,so just call 904-477-3835,anytime..I am selling my awesome,imo,98 stage 7,Vmax,if interested...cheers,and let me know if you get a Max..they kick ass!

Will over filling it with oil won't damage the engine itself? So Most likely its the engine design that have to be blame with this right?

I've never in 8yrs of being involved deeply with Vmax's saw it cause a problem..You may feel better just leaving a hairline at the top of sight window..Should work fine..Some say the extra oil may help tranny last..Mine has...Yes,it's a design issue..Randy
