hello all, i have a 09 vstar custom. the chromed plastic battery covers i want to paint flat black. has any one done this? i have some krylon fusion spray paint thats for plastics. any advice would be great . ty

Rough it up with steel-wool. Clean with a de-greaser(oven cleaner work good). Prime it(NAPA in a can is good). Paint it.

Agreed, I don't see any reason that would not give you a fine job, if you do it, post how it turned out for you, ok?

You can also use a grey scotchbrite pad and scuff the pieces up with some soapy water. Let them dry and spray away! Rattle can can be tricky to achieve a nice even finish. Make sure the area you spray and let them dry in is clean and free of dust or alot of air movement. Also helps to practice on a few things to get your technique down. I cant say how durable this method is but it definitly will work.
