even though the bike harness has two white wires for the pick up they are different from each other if you get them reversed the engine won't run right. i'v even seen some oem pick ups shipped with the wires reversed at the plug and you cant tell because they're the same color. if it runs bad after installing that pick up reverse the wires and you'll be smiling. it's better to use an oem pick up because the cheaper after market ones have a high failure rate and it's to much of a pain changing it to be doing it twice not mention the cost of doing it again. one of the wires has power in it that the pickup amplifies and the other sends the amplified signal to the ecm that's why they shouldn't be reversed. long story short... pickup coils have polarity
