I've been messing with my bike all day, 06 V Star 1100. Got the pods setup installed, k&n filters, and a crankcase breather. I installed 145main jets and 20 pilot jets. I have dynojet needles in the carb and adjusted them down a notch to bring the needle up. Removed the needle jet o ring and drilled out the shut off solenoid hole for more fuel flow from what I read on https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home/tuning/carb-jetting. Went through both carbs and cleaned them and blew them out. Bike ran great before all of this, but I wanted more power, the Baron slip on pipes weren't enough. And now, bike starts up good, and off idle is good. But accelerating more than 1/4 throttle it falls right on it's face. I can get it to maybe 4k rpm in neutral but it will not go higher and has no power. It pops and backfires while doing this too which tells me it's lean. Carbs have been off 6 times today, making small adjustments and checking things. Tried everywhere from 2 turns out to 4 turns out on the pms screw. I've set and reset and rechecked the floats. I'm at a loss for why I'm loosing fuel in mid and high rpm. Also, fuel was put in last week and ran great yesterday before the pods.

The carb had the dynojet needles in it already. I was all confused when I pulled it out and it had multiple grooves. Looked up and found it was a dynojet needle. So I should go back to the mikuni needles?

So my best bet here would be to get new needle sets from Yamaha or mikuni? Do you happen to know the mikuni numbers? Rather than going through Yamaha for it

Well I know what I did wrong. So there's another smaller main jet off to the side of the actual main jet. Not even thinking I looked at them and the new jet looked identical to that one on the side and I popped it in there and did nothing with the actual main jet(which looked different because it was a dynojet jet) so it's like I never jetted it.

partzilla or someone you usually use.. https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home/tuning/carb-jetting scroll down it talks about using pre 2003 needles.the part nos. are there too.. if you have the jets that came with the kit they will work if you get the right mains it just mikuni have been tried so theres no guess work.
