Sorry for the offense. I removed the post. I did not look into the allegations in the material and stupidly just forwarded it from a friend from another forum.

I am sorry -

The "Harley Owners Group", the biggest motorcycle club in America, maybe even the world, hasn't found any members that have Progressive Insurance
i have a buddy in H.O.G. and as far as i know, they never surveyed him on which insurance he uses. so this is a pretty empty statement.

i've seen this thing before. and if i did some looking, i could find 'dirt' on any insurance company. i mean, insurance companies themselves are the biggest racket in the U.S. if i really wanted to be vigilant making sure that all the companies that provide the products and services i use on a daily basis are aligned with my moral and political compasses, or else not use those products, i would end up living in the woods or on some hippy commune. so what to do? just go with the less evil corporation?

can't shop at Walmart. those commies underpay their employees and discriminate against women.
can't frequent Chick-fi-la. they promote traditional family values, er i mean, they hate gays.
can't get medical treatment anywhere because doctors receive perks from pharmaceutical companies to push certain drugs.
can't buy gas from Exxon, or Shell, or Chevron, etc...
this list could go on forever.

i hate the ACLU as much as the next person, but how do you know that no other money from any other insurance company somehow gets funneled to the ACLU? or to a Sodexo subsidiary that indirectly provides goods or funding to a state prison whose warden is buddies with a senator who is approving legislation that would ban all assault rifles in their state?

think i'll just stick with my cheap insurance for now.

What you might not know is that the Chairman of Progressive is Peter Lewis, one of the major funders of leftist causes in America .

Between 2001 and 2003, Lewis funneled $15 million to the ACLU, the group most responsible for destroying what's left of Americas Judeo-Christian heritage.

Lewis also gave $12.5 million to MoveOn.org "<http://moveon.org/> .org/%3e" rel=nofollow target=_blank>" href="http://moveon/"<http://moveon.org/> and America Coming Together, two key propaganda arms of the socialist left.
His funding for these groups was conditional on matching contributions from George Soros, the America-hating socialist who is the chief financier of the Obama political machine.
Lewis stepped down as CEO in 2000. Oh yeah, and he actually died in November of last year. I seriously doubt he's donating to anyone at the moment. My source is also snopes.com (http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/peterlewis.asp), oddly enough the exact same page cited in the bit you copy/pasted.

As for who's pulling the strings over there now, I'm kind of in the same boat as bevo. If I made sure that every person affiliated with every company with whom I do business had politics that matched my own, I'd never have time to buy anything from anyone.

Absolutely no offense taken on this end, I assure you. I'm a fairly conservative guy politically, and made the decision a long time ago that if I let politics influence my every choice, I'd honestly never get anything done.
