If the shoe fits. I had Amazon leds in the passing lamp housing. When one of them failed. I got something with better output and or pattern. D3 wasn’t released when I got these. The lens covers have a pattern that adds a horizontal cutoff but output is reduced to my eyes. Denali has replacement lenses with different patterns but they don’t have a horizontal cutoff. The lower lamps are visionx clearance dr1, first generation type. I have a skene aux light dimmer on it. The upper ones are dr1 with halo. It doesn’t halo well with the lens covers as seen below. The skene dimmer on the scooter died so looking for alternatives before getting another skene.
I wish Denali produced D3 pods in Chrome like your DR1s. I got a quote from a Chrome plating shop to have them plated, but the price was around $500 - way too much.

I would have gotten the d3 if they were out.
What’s bar are you referring to? My oem passing lamp bar failed at the weld. So I got the cobra lamp bar. The oem turn signals are up top. The led insert was also an Amazon find. I couldn’t get the dr1 to fit up top with the windshield. So after a bunch of trips to Home Depot, I got all the hardware to keep them on. I tried the double nut thing but one came apart. Maybe locktite would have worked. But went nylon nut.

edit: would be nice if it could be mounted with the attachment point up top or if it was short enough to not rub against the windshield if mounted up top.

I would just get an ebay/amazon bar in black color to match the D3s, or even custom fabricate something out of stainless steel and then have it powder coated black.

My current bar is Show Chrome BTW, I'm not too happy with it either, it vibrates quite a bit.

My Show Chrome passing lights kit has been sold, and my second set of Denali D3s has arrived. There are with white lenses. I have the setup all worked out in my mind on how I will have it mounted. Stay tuned, lol.

how deep is it from the center of mount bolt to where cable comes out would bend? would like to know if it would fit on the cobra bar with windshield. at a three inch height, there is about two inches of clearance. if you could give dimensions of the base plate, maybe it might fit on the outer opening of the cobra, where there is a little more clearance.

Oh, the mounts are all the way on the back, plenty of space to mount them onto any type of bar. However I am not using any type of bar to mount them, I have a different idea in mind, hopefully I can get them mounted tomorrow and I'll post some photos. Aesthetically it is not going to look very good, def not as clean as the Show Chrome setup, but the light output is going to be absolutely epic.

I've got dr1 on the underside of the cobra with the elliptical and euro lens attachments. those two supposedly create a cutoff type pattern. but i feel the attachments reduces light output in regard to distance. i also think mounted lower doesn't help things either. it wouldn't fit on the top side with a windshield. no one has flashed my yet but i have them set at '50%' using a dimmer. they go to 11 when i flip on the high beam. I'm in no rush to change things but keeping tabs for options in case one of them goes out.

looks like i could use the outer hole on the cobra with that mount bracket and a smaller bolt or drill out the hole. one side is limited by the switch, but it could be removed. the cable may clear the windshield. if it only came in chrome.

Lack of chrome housings is a major gripe of mine with Denalis. This is why I sold my Show Chrome bar, since the chrome bar just won't look right with black buckets. I purchased a set of black turn signals to better match the Denalis, and I'll post a complete photo once I get everything mounted.

This is for my 950, it originally came with on the standard halogen headlamp, and no passing lights. I have replaced the headlamp with a Denali M5 LED, and I also added Denali D4 auxiliary lights. The auxiliary lights are very bright, but I have been thinking of getting rid of them for a couple of reasons - a) they are out of style for the bike, b) they are fork mounted, and so it's hard to aim them without blinding other drivers, I have to point the bright spot within about 6 feet of the bike, otherwise I am blinding oncoming drivers.

I have been thinking of getting the OEM passing light kit, but I have a few questions. I understand it comes with two bowls for the additional lights, but are the turn signals reused or does it come with new turn signals? From what I could find on google, it looks like OEM reuses the turn signals, and aftermarket ones come with new turn signals? Also, how hard is it to install? And finally, what size lights does it come with, since I will likely replace them with LEDs if anything is available. I was looking at JW speaker, they have 4" LED lights that may fit.

I would just mount them on your crash bars and be done with it. I myself don't care for the look of the passing lights next to the head light like HD my buddy loves them I gave mine away from my street Glide, then sold him the bike. To each his own, I've been thinking of installing the led lights on my crash bars with a plug in for long night rides then remove them

nice. i would probably do the same if i could with the road star. much cheaper than a light bar.
These Denali lights are not cheap. You're paying almost $400 for the pair of pods + $100 for the harness.

Some night shots. These babies are bright and look great. However, I think I will design a bracket to put the turn signals underneath. I already have the design in my head, lol.

Cleaned the front up a little, finally concealed the cables running to the lower fog lights, and relocated the turn signals below the upper fog lights. I think it looks great. Not as good as the Show Chrome setup, but it produces a lot more light.
