My rear brake is sticking on my 2009 vstar 650 Classic and I’m not sure on how to fix it. The bike has drum brakes and from what I’ve seen imma have to take it apart and clean it but was wanting to see if I could try anything else before I have to take the exhaust off and everything

Could be:
1. Defective brake hardware, replace.
2. Defective brake rod, replace.
3. Brake pedal pivot sticking.
4. Brake shoes improperly adjusted.
As you can tell there are many possibilities. Being brakes, since you life or someone's else's might depend on working correctly, I would suggest to have someone that's brake savvy to look at them.
