saddlebags

I have a 950 and had soft sided saddlebags (river road) attached by a dealer, after the first ride, noticed they have already "scratched" the paint on rear fender. Not loving that at all. Now I think I may want to remove them. How do you remove the passenger seat to take off the bags?
Thanks..

I have had the same issue with my river road bags as well as a melting issue even being 4 inches off the pipes. now if you like the look just dont like the scratching problem then put a polishing cloth underneath the leather where they mount. but to answer you question the is a nut on the back on your fender that is all you have to take off then it should just slide out
I took off the passenger seat on my 950 a few months ago. First remove the main seat. You'll need a metric socket wrench to remove the two hex bolts that run horizontally with the seat side by side under the front of the passenger seat. It's been a while and I don't remember the exact size of the socket... It'll take you a few turns because they're long bolts. Once you get them off, slide the seat back toward the rear of the bike and off the tab that secures the rear of the seat.
Hope that helps - Pete
Thanks for the info. I think once I figure out the seat removal I may just do that and out some type of soft cloth underneath.
: )
Cheers
Hi Pete..
Thanks for the info. Are there nuts that go along with that bolt to worry about?

Hi Eileen,

No nuts to worry about, the bolts go into a threaded bracket. I double checked this morning and actually the bolts aren't that long. You'll need a 13/32 socket attachment and the extension for your rachet amd you'll be good to go.
