Trains run thru my town a half mile away every half hour or so.

I was going to take my 25X telephoto lens, park my MC ON the tracks at the crossing, back off a ways and get a long focal length picture of my motorcycle in front of a train... as it approached at 70mph...

then try to run back and move my bike before it got kicked thru the goal posts at the high school...

but I was pretty sure I would end up on the six o'clock news one way or the other.

Your picture of your bike on the side of a train will have to do :^)

Two for one this morning. The first one commemorates the west coast end of the Pony Express. The second is just a chrome horse. Now a picture of your bike in front of your favorite bar or restaurant. Not a chain.

Taken out front at a local hole in the wall biker bar. Sorry, was more focused on my bike than the bar!
Hope that works. No signs on the building for name. Just a neighborhood hangout.

You guys are quick on getting to the spots, very impressive. I am happy this thread is getting attention. It is a fun thing to do. I am looking forward to seeing it hit 100 posts and keep on ticking up from there.

Did that work for you?
If so, how about. Pic of your bike in front of a stadium? Stadium name must be visible.

12 minutes flat - Im gonna need an R1 to compete with this. LOL!

I was across the street from the Bill's stadium this afternoon, left at 5PM. CG posted his challenge 53 minutes later.

If I had seen it and posted a photo, you guys would never believe I just happen to be there after he posted it... would you?

Why not? Who knows where anyone is when they get the challenge. Too bad you didn’t get the pic!

Ok, here ya go. Had to do this on a “loaner SVTC bike” from the dealership since mines in the shop.
My local town of Faith, NC is not big enough to have a City Hall but they do have Town Hall.
The next pic will be in honor of the upcoming 4th of July.

I think it’s amazing you have your fathers uniform. I’m not opposed to saying “VALID” in honor of your fathers service. I don’t know if you served, but I did 20yrs and 2 wars myself.
Are there any who want to be more “legalistic” about this or is this good enough?

The intent was only to honour the uniform and what it stands for. The main reason it was handy is my oldest son was just here and I had given him the flag that was on my father's coffin with all his medals thats in a display case. I kept the uniform. We have a lot of family pride. My hat off to you and all others who have served rhis county.

I dont know where I would be able to find a Marine in his dress uniform, much less how to drag him outside to take a photo by my bike

but in the spirit of the post by Les and July 4th, I will raise you a uniform, on my father, sitting on his motorcycle, in Germany in 1946.

He stayed on after the war and was able to get a ~1934 BMW R4 400cc thumper in exhange for a few packs of american cigarettes.

Some of us have motorcycles in our DNA, in my case on both sides of my family - maternal grandad had a 1920's Harley back in the 1920's.

Not trying to sidestep or derail the scavenger hunt, just a minor detour :^)

That's a great picture! This minor detour while waiting for the scavenger hunt to be completed is great.

It was my honor to have served. I’m sure your dad felt the same!

the Curtis Museum in Hammondsport NY has that bike in the lobby. Never thought Id get to see one in person.

If I still had my old Coast Guard dress uniform I could take a photo of me wearing it standing next to the motorcycle my father had (In the museum), and then pretend I didnt understand the challenge because Im old and I get confused... :^)

If you think the Dress Uniform will cause difficulties, I may see you point. How about if we MODIFY the requirement. Marine just needs to be in UNIFORM. Combat fatigues, dress greens, etc... Most base Gate Guards can do that one.

The only time we wore our dress uniform in the CG was when an officer came to the station for a visit and inspection
or when we did honor guard duty for the funeral of a veteran...

There is that marine thats always standing next to the presidents helicopter when he flies from the white house lawn... I could ride my motorcycle across the lawn and ask someone to take a photo of me and him next to the helicopter...

Lol! That would be sheer suicide!
