I got a 2006 v star 650 custom, and my girl can stand the back seat its too hard for her, Looking for a cheap fix any ideas out there, will another seat for a diffent bike fit or some thing cant affored a mustang or corban seat.

Try an AirHawk seat pad. I tried the Yamaha star aftermarket rear seat, better but still not enough for my girlfriend. I ended up getting an Ultimate rear seat she loves it.

My wife the Airhawk too, but you could try something like a sheepskin first, I like it on long trips. The Airhawk is much cheaper than a new seat, but still plenty of bucks, I may have got shafted, but I give around 170 new.

remove the seat, look under it, remove the bracket that mounts it, use needlenose pliers to pull the staples and remove the cover....hit the hard foam with a sander, then add memory foam and some upholstrey batting....slip the cover back over and restaple it in place. Only shoot a few staples in until you slip it back in place and have her try it. you can add more or less foam as needed when you get it right use a bit of spray adhesive to hold the memory foam or plusher foam to the original seat foam, cover again with the batting and then staple it all back up, remount the bracket and your golden. I did mine and studded it at the same time.

Doug, yeah you are right, I had a little brain fart there, I was thinking the full meal deal, total seat replacement, Mustang, Corbin, ect.

will a classic seat fit on a custom then classice seat looks thicker, the local shop have a gel sporter seat they think will fit does any one know if it will fit or not.

damquick's solution works very well. My wife could not last much over 100 miles on the stock Classic seat. After some trial and error with the memory foam, we got it so she was more comfortable. Then I lucked out and found a Mustang seat for $250. Now we can both ride all day with no complaints!

Watch Ebay. Swap meets are OK if you have a H-D, but it's tough to find parts for metric bikes at them. A Mustang seat will set you back about $350.

My wife and I use Ride Easy motorcycle seat gel pads. We often ride 400 to 650 mile days back to back. When we shut down at the end of the day, we do not hurt and don't have the numbness. A little stiff about like riding in a car for the same distance. They don't cost as much as some of the other pads mentioned either.
