Has anyone tryed this?
I had the low beam bulb blow, so I stopped at the local parts store and they were out of the low beam bulb. But they had the high beam bulb, we looked it up and the only difference was the low beam was 51 w and the high beam was 55 w. the base is the same and the connector is the same . So I went for it...it really does make a difference at night . I have been running it for 2 months to see if it effected anything and I haven't had any problems.
The way I figure is the electrical system is made to be able to run on high beam for the electric draw, just the shape of the housing enhances the high beam....but it really does make a difference on low.

The only thing you have to look out for is the higher the wattage, the more heat it makes. I've melted refectors and lenses before. But I was putting 100 watt bulbs in. Just keep an eye on it, you should be fine.
