OK folks. Riding season is globally upon us, and most people are out with their knees in the breeze rather than poring over an indoor forum. So...

When you get home with your good (or otherwise) experiences and pix from the day, post them here with a short narrative so we can all share. And if you didn't ride today, but have some experience/pix from a past ride you'd like to brag about (or forget about:)) this is the place to author a memory, a safety experience, or just reminisce.

What say?:) Bevo promised to stick it so that it will be cumulative if we can gin up some ongoing interest.

I'm pretty sure the rain is stalking Brad since I had nothing but sunshine and partly cloudy skies on my ride home after parting ways with him. Go figure.
You know....I really do think it's me. I ran through a little rain on that short jaunt from Yankee's to my daughters place. :ROFLMAO:

Had a great ride today to get pie. A tad over 200 miles for pie seems right.

Was a great ride except the last 5 miles when I tried to outrun the rain and hail store, which I failed. On my road to my cabin, there's no where to pull over to wait it out. On a positive note, found out trike does well in a flash flood. I got off the trike, walked up on porch and filmed this. Look at the water runoff that I zoomed in on. If you ever wondered where I got the nickname "Loose Nut", this video might help explain.

Full face helmets and riding jackets come in handy in hail. Ouch...

Well my plan is to take the bike out tomorrow, hopefully. Might only be a short jaunt over to my local gun store to pick up a new 1911 that I had ordered but at least it's something.

Well you have been wishing for your lake to fill up so it is not all that bad…and just think it might rain so much that you will be able to swim right from your own deck…..

Woke up to 38 degrees this morning and it doesn't look like it's going to warm up to the stated temp until very late afternoon, So taking the bike out today may be a no-go....... I'll wait and see.

It warmed up enough that I took off on the bike to my LGS. A little shaky at first buy not as bad as I thought it might be. Of course most everyone at my LGS knows me by first name....... Not sure if that's good or bad....... LOL
If anyone cares this is what I picked up this time, a Tisas Service Special 1911 in .45ACP. Couldn't pass up the $320 price tag........... That now makes three Tisai (Plural?) I own as well as one Rock Island Armory 1911. Might pick up another RIA soon.

Woke up yesterday to mid 80's and 95% humidity, slight chance of rain. Never claiming to be overly intelligent, decided to take a ride to Louisiana for some BBQ anyway. Found an emergency vehicle parked in Lumberton and one on the roll in DeRidder, so posted those to the scavenger hunt. Ate at the Big Thicket BBQ house in DeRidder and then wandered around that part of the world for a while enjoying the heat and scenery. Made several extra stops just to get out of the sun and hydrate a bit as temperatures rose to near 90. I'm not as tough as I used to be (even just last year) and I think the wife was wondering what all the stopping was about....LOL. It was a pretty good brisket sandwich.

Took six bikes and ten people out on my birthday ride today. We rode just under 200 miles in 8 hours. The last 30 minutes was rain darn it.

Yesterday woke up a little early on purpose so I could get an early start for my planned ride to nowhere, but the lazies got me and I just couldn't get motivated to get going. After about 2 hours of sitting around, cat napping and general malaise I finally decided to get on down the street. Beautiful day, temperatures bounced between 78° and 82° all day, mostly sunny with some cotton ball looking cumulus clouds hiding the sun on occasion.

I've had cars, trucks, semis, trains and all sorts of vehicles pull out in front of me, but today was the first time I've had a pedestrian cut me off. I had to scrub almost 20 MPH to keep us both from having a bad day....

Found some magic fuel in Lufkin on the way home. Got kind of lost in the ride and noticed I had run nearly 200 miles on my last tank and I needed to get serious about fueling up. I was kind of out in the middle of nowhere and being the cheapskate that I am I passed several stations because I thought their prices were too high. Finally stopped at a Valero station with 227 miles on the odometer and still paid more than I'm used to (50¢ a gallon more than I would pay later closer to home). But there must have been fairy magic dust in that expensive fuel as I ended up getting 44.95 mpg out of that tank. I average 38-40, so that was quite the outlier.
