Just a head's up...I don't want to see anybody get taken with the latest email mailing CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) scam.

This morning, on 7/6/2018, I got another version of the C.R.A. SCAM, whereby this email, supposedly from the Canada Revenue Agency is advising me that they have 'reviewed' my income tax file and that I can get back (I love this...): $458.00 dollars, by (signing on) to the supplied internet address, 'to start the process'.

IF you get this...or ANY version of either, YOU OWE US, after 'reexamination', or in this case, WE OWE YOU....PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON ANY IN-BEDDED LINKS...and if you are so curious that you might fall for this...CALL THE CRA YOURSELF...FROM LOOKING UP THE CRA NUMBER YOURSELF, and then ask out this so called either audit result, or wanting to give you money back for whatever reason, as in my case..some B.S. C835 filing.

Please...do not fall for this scam. There have been so many that fall for this...and these are intelligent people....whereby ANYTHING to do with the C.R.A. will trigger a response....

I sniffed the call-back of the email...and it came from someone with a very Pakistani sounding name. nobody sending from the legitimate CRA website.

Again, please, never respond to unsolicited CRA or I.R.S. (for U.S. citizens). Both agencies DO NOT send you such emails, OR ask you ever for your S.S.N, credit card, debit card...ask you to respond with any form of a financial card that you have to purchase....
You'd think that people (all persons) have wised up to these scams, but I still read of so many that fall for this....young, old, almost old....people still fall for these especially if it looks like it is coming from the CRA or the IRS.

Why?------------------> because most people experience an intimidating/emotional response, in regard to anything from a governmental agency,------>...ESPECIALLY the Canadian Revenue Agency, or the Internal Revenue Service, and the scammer/criminal culture, absolutely plays on that fact!

FYI!

Fellow Canadian.

Both agencies DO NOT send you such emails

and they NEVER call you on the phone - PERIOD

I think I almost liked it better when a guy would walk up behind you after you left the bank with the cash from your pay check, and wacked you over the head with a lead pipe.

At least the guy had some courage to rob someone in person, and the person being robbed might hear him coming and fight back.

These internet scammers should be publicly hanged for robbing the elderly.

Others to be aware of ....

Microsoft will NEVER call you to tell you, you have a virus on your computer.

Law enforcement will NEVER call to tell you a relative needs bail money. and that bail money has to be paid by gift cards.

Your bank will not call you and ask you to verify your bank information because there is a lock on your account or some such ilk.

Thanks for the heads up on this, ironically last week I started getting phone calls from the US Internal Tax service, an obvious scam. I’ve installed the RoboKiller app that intercepts scammers and tele-marketers with comical voice mailboxes. When a call does get through, very rare, I quickly answer, ‘Homicide Division, do you want to report a homicide’? Click! Sadly many people, especially seniors in my area have fallen for this. Share this with your family and friends please!
