My wife's 04 650 v star has V & H short shots i( belive they are as they don't extend to the back of the bike ) any way, they are to loud for her and she would like to put the stock pipes on is there a step by step tutorial(?) for this procedure

You could try getting long shots, the exhaust will exit behind the bike and not be as loud for the rider. If you put on the stock pipes you would probably have to change at least one bracket and maybe some hardware. Do you still have stock exhaust? If not, replacing a stock exhaust can get pretty pricey. Chances are that if it has short shots on it , it has probably been re-jetted and you may have to return it to the stock jets. Just some food for thought.

Does V&H mahe a slip on for the 650 ??
