Interstate trips are possible, but on the 1100, there is some vibration present above 75mph that gets tiring. Sure, the machine can do it....but you'll be tired sore at the end of a long trip. Much more so than let's say a Goldwing.

Backroad type trips are much more fun.

There is no way to reduce the on road rpms on this bike. It's a big bore/short stroke motor that gets buzzy above 75mph.

It's good to know that these engines are durable - I just wish the bike had a 6th gear and a tacho. you say that you were told that the bike could run a 6000rpm all day but without a tacho I have no idea where the bike is running at??

I ride a stock 05 1100 Silverado with small bags
3200/3300 on tach is 60/63 mph

you got the wrong bike if you want to go fast.....its called cruiser for a reason
