Just looking at so many other bikes comparable to the V star 1100, such as Harley’s, and even the Yamaha Raider. And almost all have a single front disc.
So why did Yamaha put the dual front discs on the 1100?
Was it the anticipation that people where going to build them up for touring? Added weight over other models? Styling/aesthetics? Selling feature?
Curious to hear your thoughts.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand the benefits of dual calliper’s coming from a sport bike back ground. Just curious why the star 1100 gets it and the raider doesn’t, or a comparable Harley like the SoftTail. Was this Yamahas move of one-up -man-ship in some capacity?
