This is what I usually do before the cold winter when I have to store the bike for the next 5 months...add in the suggested fuel stabilizer amount topped up with new gas and run it for about 10 minutes.

I did that last winter but now I hear the fuel line needs to be shut off and I need your advice and opinions. If I need to do shut it off, where is that fuel line located on the V star 1300?

There is not a shut off from what I know. Fuel stabilize will be sufficient they some say it is better to use stabilizer and leave the fuel in EFI system or carb it helps to stop parts from drying out.

Bikermike that's what I thought too. I'm gonna leave it the way I did last winter. I already added the fuel stabilizer and it's stored. Thanks
