i recently bought a 2000 xvs1100 vstar custom. i am new to riding, i like the bike so far but have read that yamaha got out of the 1100 size, correct?

Could someone let me know if yamaha or existing dealers plan to support the 1100 vstar and do any of you that have an older vstar have and issues with parts and service

thanks

The 1100 has a very strong following. Yes Yamaha us going to drop the 1100. I just purchased a left over 08 1100 Silverado. I looked at both the 950, and 1300, but I purchased an 1100. The 950 is supposed to replace the 1100. Both the 950 and 1300 have EFI, are belt driven. They are nice, but I still selected the 1100. Yamaha will still support the 1100, plus there is a huge aftermarket for the 1100. I researched the bikes, and with the strong following of the 1100, parts or service will not be a problem.

The 1100 just seemed to fit me better. The 1300 felt large, and I just wasn't comfortable on the 950. Even the sales person commented that I looked more comfortable of the 1100. I planned on getting the 1300, with all the new technology and changes, EFI belt drive, but I just felt more comfortable on the 1100. Not to mention I found a smokin deal on an 08 Silverado leftover that they needed to unload... :D
