I'm running a hypercharger with a Max Air kit, and aftermarket pipes. when we did the dyno test prior I was at 41 HP and 38 FP of torque. After the install of both I maxed out at 52HP on the third run and 42 Fp torque midstream run. Not too bad if you ask me...but the real key is to make sure you have the jetting dead on. We played around with it and I think we finally have it right on! Is it a rocket? no...did it add that extra umph that I wanted? yes....seems like my bike is no longer starving for that
6th gear, maybe it's just me.
I've had my 09 Classic 650 for a year now and since i am very happy with her, I decided to spend the money for mods and accessories . I got V & H Cruzer pipes, re-jetted and put in a K & N Filter. I am very well pleased with the performance... and the sound, now I know other drivers can hear me .
Not sure if you down shift in order to get a surge for more power, but I would not discount that as on option. The 650 has a great engine and it can handle a lot
