Hi guys, On my 2008 1100 , I have done my dynojet kit a while back but not 100% sold on it being better. I have cobra slip ons , stock intake ,and used the the 110-112 jets(dynojet) .
My stock jets were 112.5 -115 Mikunis
Any personal feedback on this topic? and I here about using stock needles with washers, Where and what do you ask for when you order these washers?( and how many should you start with )

I'd stick with the Mikuni jets and needles. You want "Small Round" jets, as opposed to large round jets, don't know the part # off hand. Here's a link to jetting numbers just match your setup and away you go. If you cant get the shim washers at your dealer you can use #4 stainless washers but you'll have to enlarge the inner holes to .120 and mic them for equal thickness. In that same article, roll up quite a ways and there is a blurb about getting the washers at Radio Shack and a P/N too.

Those Dynajet needles are stainless steel and are too large in diameter. From engine vibration, they will beat out your needle jets (turn the jet's round bore into an oval one, and ruin the metering). Pull the needles (easy job, they come out the top) and look at those needles. If they have a shiny spot, the needle jets are probably already history.

Have a micrometer? Measure the needles near the tip. Pretty close to .070"? The stock Mikunis are about .0625". Those fatter needles are filling the needle jet more and causing leaness. Getting popping and crackling in the exhaust on roll-off? Lean.

You only have slip-ons and stock intake....a combination which generally does not call for rejetting unless something else is influencing the AFR.

So, you suggest to use the stock needles with dynojet jets? or do I also need to switch out the jets back to stock (mikuni)?

I don't know what a 2008 sent to Canada had for stock mains. You stated they were 115 and 112.5. That's interesting, because the stock jets are listed as 110 and 112.5 for USA, 2005 and earlier. You were where I wound up at present. But... from 2006 on there may be a catalytic converter...if yours has one, that may be the difference.

Dynajet jets are smaller than Mikuni jets. Yes, I am suggesting that you go back to Mikuni jets and Mikuni needles.

I'd go back to all Mikuni jetting and needles. The chart and settings above are all in Mikuni sizes. You can mix and match, but most of the info you'll find is in Mikuni sizes anyway. There are conversion charts available. You'll pay $100 for a dyno-jet kit and you can get the mikuni jets from your dealer or online for about $20-30
