I agree Sean, when we decide to upgrade, I’ll probably be going to the 1300. Rode one two summers ago at a Yamaha demo days in Cookeville, TN. Loved the brakes, overall handling and performance. Didn’t feel that much heavier than my 950, however the 950 is paid for so it might be a bit before I pull the trigger on one.
I have a 2015 650- Classic bought new in April of 2017 - now with 51000 km (32000 miles) - started riding at age 70 in Oct 2016 and plan on riding this bike to the 160000 km mark (100000 miles) just as something to have on my bucket list - figure to have it done in the next four years.
Added ScootMods 4" foot control extensions, Memphis Shades batwing and 12" windshield and Mutazu hard bags - makes for a comfortable rides of 2 hours then a 15 minute break and another 2 hours - haven't done any longer so can't comment on a 10 hour day.
Had it parked next to my bud's HD Street Glide the other day and a few of the old timers were all over the bags and look of the bike - the price of the total package knocked them out much to the chagrin of my bud - you can buy a lot of 650s and 1100s for the extra 20000 he paid for the HD.
Removing the crankcase covers to get them powder coated. Drained the oil, removed the right side cover no problem.
Trying to get the left side off and it seems to want to pull back on, like it's on a spring or something. Thought it was just stuck on the shifter spline. I don't...
I added another custom touch to my 1100 this last week. With all this corona stuff going on I have every other week off of work for the forceable future. So to keep busy I’m catching up on things I’ve wanted to do to my bike.
So this last week I sat down and figured out a hand shift...
Has anyone done the rear air ride on the V Star? When I got the bike, the shock had been removed and it was completely slammed (and rigid to boot). I still want it lowered and I plan on building an air ride system for it, but I need height for the moment.
I put the stock shock back...
Ok, bought this gauge for the 650. I don't like not knowing how much fuel is in the tank, and frankly, going off what I see inside, means absolutely nothing to me (lol). I get the gauge, and no instructions are included. Went back to the site, and they have nothing either. When I looked at the...
I like to ask you about your experience with vibrations. I have a 2013 v star 950 with 8000km. I have to say it is my first cruiser. I love it. Easy to handle and comfortable.
1. In Idle there are vibrations on the handlebar. You clearly see how the mirrors are shaking. If you turn...
