Might anyone know what the 4 pin plug and void area down
by the voltage regulator rectifier is for? I found it while trying to
diagnose my charge issue,
Thank you i have been diving in but seeing that to check the
stater volt/rect would have saved me pulling off my exhaust.
Everything checked out. After i put it all back together it worked
intermittently. I wish it would just quit so i can find the problem.
I do enjoy doing this stuff.
Do love the bike though
On intermediate electrical issue it's commonly a loose ground about 90% of the time. Second most common issue is a connection being loose or corroded. First, take ground cable where it attaches to frame off, clean frame and cable end. While at it check battery connections. Post back results.
^esp the battery connection where the black neg battery lead attaches to the frame
its not easy to see, so no one notices it corroded
when checking for bad connections people tend to forget it takes two wires to make a connection, and the bike uses the frame for all the negative "wires".
Its a PITA to trace out all the frame connections, but if that proves to be the issue it wont cost you hundreds of dollars to replace anything.
Would perfect voltage at plug from stater to battery (exact same voltage) eliminate that
ground issue. I will sure look into that.
