Just picked up & installing the Yamaha light bar on my 650.
To anyone who has these - Am I missing something here?
The lamps use a hollow-body bolt that installs from whithin the lamp body - down thru a couple of beveled washers and the light bar - into the turn sig adapter.
The turn sig adapter has a slot in it for the wires to exit (so it needs to stay in a fairly fixed position for the wires to exit and go into end of light bar).
So if I'm looking at this correctly, the only way to tighten/adjust these lamps is to remove trim and lamp????
I'm guessing the best way to do this is to just snug them up - install lamp - make adjustment - make an alignement mark on outside somewhere - remove lamp - loosen (to dump some loctite in there) - wrench them tight (using alignement mark to keep them where they need to be) - reinstall lamps & trim.

That's basically what you have to do to align them. I made mine straight on while the bar was off the bike. All I really cared about was they be well seen since I don't ride at night. You can see mine for a long distance away.

Passing lamps

Isn't the point where the mounting stem connects to the body of the light a ball like point? That you can loosen it and adjust the light left, right, or up and down?

It's not exactly the best idea, what I did was snug the bolts so there is still some movement. Take the bike out to the street and aim the light where I wanted them. Bring the bike back in the garage and tighten being carefull not to move the lights.

Yes it is. The problem is you have to get to the nut inside the light to loosen and tighten which means you have to take the light apart.
