Okay as a Shorter rider (5'5" with my heels on ) I would like to move stuff towards me. I have only ridden 1 other strat and it had the beach bars on it. Which seemed really nice but really wide.
So i have seen baron make a riser to bring the bars back about 2 inches. so my questions are

1. putting risers on will this affect a Fairing and audio system ?

2. what is everyone using for aftermarket bars.

I'm a shorty too (you've got an inch on me, LOL), but the riding position of mine is perfect for me. The previous owner was close to 6' if I remember right - never met the guy, but he mentioned his height in a phone call before I bought it (eBay).

I'll have to take some pics of my setup once I pull the 'Liner out of hibernation. It's in a bad spot right now, all covered up to boot.

Not sure if my risers are stock or not. The bars I believe are aftermarket, as they're pretty big (as in long). I'll get some pics in a few weeks ...

EDIT: well I can tell it's close to bed time for me. Already have these old pics. I'll get some CLOSER pics in a few weeks ...

They don't look too different from stock. Or maybe the Yamaha touring bars that are basically the stock bars with a little bit tighter bends so they are a little more narrow and come back a little farther.

Thanks for the picture I like the looks of your bars. I'm thinking maybe you should take those and the fairing and send them to me. This way I can make sure I like them :)

I picked up baron pullback risers yesterday and I might start the installation process soon. I'm feeling kinda lazy. I knew I shouldn't have sat down when I got home from work.

These seem simple to install. I guess that's my worry every time I try something easy it never turns out in my favor

Baron Pullback Riser

Well I decided I would start the Install process tonight.
I was surprised at how Easy it was. took about 45 minutes total time ( 2 cups of coffee as the garage is a little chili)

Here are some steps and Pictures.

1. remove the speedo gauge (set this aside and install last. The instrustions say you can Install this again but its easier with it off and gives you more room) remove the 3 allen bolts and Disconnect.

Step 2.
Loosen the 2 12 mm bolts on from of gas tank.

Then the 2 10MM bolts under the seat
Image

Then grab a FLat tip Screwdriver. Put in adjusment slot and turn towards rear of bike
Image

After this is Done and the tank is adjusted to the farthest it can go back tighten tank back up. Make sure you have the bolts line up as the tank needs to sit square on tank.

Now on to the Risers.

Step 4.
Remove the Chrome caps (directions say use fingernails but unless you have steel fingernails I had to use a super small Screwdriver)

Image

Then remove the 4 Hex head cap screw (6mm i believe) also have a help Hold the bars ( i didn't have a helper so I was just careful) after removed take top of old riser block off

Image

I just layed the handlebars over the front of the Bike.

Step 5
Remove the Acorn nut from under the triple tree. ( i found it Easier with a Deep well socket and turning the bars to each side to get more work room)

Image

Step 6
Put new riser Block bottoms on. use the hex bolt provided. Spacer goes inbetween riser block and triple tree. washer and nylock nut go on bottom.

Next step ( i forgot what number i was on)
Put bars in New riser block. (this takes a Little move. you have to take the Brake cable out of the guide in order to make it long enough to work.)
Tighten down the top of the riser block with the supplied hex bolts. The bolts have to be tighten closest to rider first.
Image

Make sure everything is tight.
Im sure i will have to adjust them a Little after the first ride. The height angle might need to come down. Also you Might need to rotate you Clutch and brakes to make it comfortable for new Position.

Okay things I forgot to get a Picture of was the Brake cable thingy.
Put your speedo back on and your ready to give it a test ride (weather permitting. Not like the snow im getting as I type this.)
Okay I think thats it if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

We had a new guy on the chapter ride today and he just moved into the area from Boston. I don't know what he thinks of the anything else about the area but he sure does like the weather down here. It was a little cool in the morning but after lunch it was sunny and mid-high 50s, perfect for riding.

Yesterday I went for 100 mile ride. I had to stop and adjust the bars 2 times and finally got them dialed in. They are great and I'm very glad I added them to the Strat.

I would say that if they cut the distance in half that would be okay as well. They feel good but are almost to close.
