My bags are getting rough and quite honestly from what I've seen it won't cost much more than replacing the original bags if I can even find nice ones. Alex's bags are better made and actually cheaper then Corbin bags, plus its the look and size that I want.

I ordered Alex bags this past Friday. $1850 with color matched paint, $100 shipping. Within 4 hours I had a confirmation email and a request for a picture of my bike to ensure proper color matching. Also was informed that due to high volume of orders that it will take the full 6 weeks to produce, paint and ship the bags. His web site states 4-6 weeks for production. That is customer service done right!

 

Post pics when you get them mounted... I am happy with the factory bags, they are a big reason that I like the Strat DLX... but I could get T-boned or drop the bike someday... good to know what options are available.

 

The important thing with bags is space. My 2010 Strat holds two 18 packs. I'm happy.

 

Alex bags are twice as big as the stock bags.

Alex bags have finally arrived. Got them installed very happy with the product except for the color ( Alex has agreed to refund the paint cost.) Installation was so simple and easy There was no need to make a video.

 

Those look very nice on your bike. Outside of the paint not being an exact match, how is the rest of the fit and finish (you said good...but is there anything you wish were different)? Looks good from this vantage point. What do they look like inside with the lids open?

 

Fit and finish are great, inside is fitted carpet, very nice and uniform. hardware is all quality. Only thing that would make these better is quick release system.

they look like with a tour pack mounted.....

Next addition will be a batwing fairing. Then maybe a tour pack

I protected the front parts of all my tins and hard bags with PPF film. It's invisible and keeps bug and rock chips from causing any harm.
