Acquired this 2015 1300 Deluxe last Saturday. Took 6 hours of detailing to make her shine as she should. Traded in a flawless 2020 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. While it was a good bike, this 1300 V Star just takes things to the next level. I've had a V Star 650 Classic, 1100 Classic, and a Stratoliner S. This 1300 Deluxe combines all the good traits of my prior Star bikes, in my humble opinion. She joins my 2002 Vulcan Drifter and 2023 Bolt R-Spec in the stable.

How are you getting on with the BAK? I've a 10" car type Edelbrook arrangement which is equally free-flowing. My Dynojet map changed quite a bit at the midrange. I noticed a lot more pull with it though.
It certainly allows the engine to breathe better. Now I'm just counting down to Sept 7th when Ivan reopens so I can send him my ECU and really unlock the power of this 1300.

Take it easy and avoid high midrange loads until the fuel map has been tweaked - up. I reverse engineered my Dynojet add-on maps, and the free flowing inlet settings were several points richer. The stock air inlet is very poor flowing due to it's location and requirements to be quiet, rainproof and compact.

Do you have the stock muffler or something noisier? Mine are straight through 50mm tubes with perforated muffler inserts. That leans the low end out, giving lots of snatching and popping without a map change.
In speaking with Ivan, I went with the Cobra slip on muffler and the Barons BAK, as the best results were achieved with this set up and his tune. This will be the third bike he's tuned for me, all with very good results and no negative issues.
